‘Twelve Blossom Deities’ Pink Butterfly Glass Incense Burner | Intangible Heritage Craft, New Chinese Style | Zenith Censer
The Butterfly's Dream: A Flight Through the Lunar BlossomsIn the ancient romantic poetry of China, time is given a fragrant form—twelve flower deities, each presiding over a lunar month, bloom in sequence, guardians of the rhythm of the seasons and the subtleties of human emotion. The butterfly, meanwhile, is a messenger of dreams and the soul, fluttering among blossoms, connecting this shore and the beyond.
With utmost devotion to craft, Zenith Censer joins forces with the intangible cultural heritage studio Xinyuantang to capture and crystallize this poetic vision, presenting 「The Butterfly‘s Dream」. Using the ancient art of handcrafted glass (琉璃) as our paper and molten, high-temperature material as our ink, we blow, sculpt, and carve this elegant pink butterfly alighting upon an osmanthus branch. Its wings are delicate and translucent, their textures lifelike, as if it might take flight in the next second, carrying with it the osmanthus’s clear fragrance and the incense burner’s gentle smoke.
Upon the body of the burner, the silhouettes of the twelve lunar flowers are meticulously carved, an abstract homage to the “Twelve Blossom Deities.” This is more than an incense burner; it is a miniature, burnable garden of time. When you light an incense seal or a stick of incense, and smoke begins to wreathe around the butterfly and branches, it is as if you have awakened the slumbering monthly deities, completing a silent pilgrimage to the natural rhythms and the beauty of life.
This is the pinnacle expression of Artisan-Engineered Excellence—every curve is a crystallization of the artisan’s breath and mastery over the fire. It is also the perfect fusion of Ritual-Ready Design and Guided Curation, transforming profound cultural symbols into a participatory, tangible, daily sacred experience. This is not merely an object; it is an eternally blossoming dream about time, beauty,
